Thai Massage
Thai massage is a traditional healing system combing acupressure, Ayurvedic princpals and assisted yoga postures. Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions. The recipient remains clothed during the treatment and lies on a mattress on the floor. There is constant body contact between the giver and receiver but rather than rubbing on the muscles, the body is compressed. pulled, stretched and rocked. Generally the massage follows designated energy lines (sen) in the body. The concept of metta, (loving kindness) is an integral part of this practice. Susan trained in Thai Massage at TMC Tradtional Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The photo above was taken in the grounds of Wat Pho, the center of Thai massage and medicine for centuries.
Ayurveda and Healthy Living
Ayurveda, meaning 'the science of life' is part of the ancient, yogic philosophy of India. Ayurvedic medicine provides a holistic approach to healing and well being.
Based on achieving physical and mental harmony with nature, it has been practised for more than 5000 years. Ayurveda ('Ayu' meaning life and 'Veda' meaning science) is now acknowledged by many leading scholars as the mother of medicine because Ayurvedic principals have influenced the development of Chinese, Greek and other traditional medical systems.
Ayurveda views illness as being caused by an imbalance in a person's physical or mental constitution and therefore seeks to gently bring the person's body and mind back into healthy balance.
Ayurveda sees everything in the universe, including human beings, as composed of 5 basic elements and these five elements in turn combine with each other to give rise to three bio-physical forces (or Doshas)
Vata (air and space), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (water and earth). Ayurvedic treatment considers an individual's constitution and the nature of any imbalance and then seeks to return to a state of healthy balance. This may be achieved with lifestyle advice, massages often using herb-infused oils, herbal remedies, nutritional advice, and specially selected Yoga exercises.

Reiki Treatments and Training
Rei is Japanese for ‘universal’ and ki means ‘life force energy’.
Since ancient times, various methods of harnessing the universal life force energy have been discovered and created.
A Reiki practitioner is trained to pass on the life force energy through the laying on of hands.
Susan holds a Reiki Master certificate in the linage of Usui
REIKI TREATMENT
The Reiki Session can promote several benefits:
Stress release and deep relaxation.
Strengthening of natural self-healing and the body’s immune system.
Increase in personal energy and vitality.
A healthy mind / body connection.
Detoxification and deep cleansing.
Release of emotional and energetic blockages.
During the treatment you remain dressed and lie comfortably with cushions, while the practitioner transmits the energy to you.
